Hello! My name is Dana Byrd and I am a multidisciplinary designer and graduate from High Point University with a B.A. in graphic design. I'm a dedicated and curious problem solver with a love for crafting brands and experiences that make a positive impact on the people who use them.
I was born in Orlando, FL, and have lived in a variety of locations from Charlotte, NC and Washington D.C. to the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. I now reside in Denver, Colorado.
During college at High Point University, I was mentored by the renowned art director, Allan Beaver. Upon graduation, he awarded me High Point University's only "Outstanding Senior in Graphic Design" in 2012.
I pursued a career as a freelance graphic designer for French Heritage Furniture in High Point, NC during college where I created all their major product catalogs, advertisements, and brochures.
Following college, I worked full-time for Tops and Trends, Inc, one of the leading automotive restylers in the Southeast. I was their lead graphic designer, marketing coordinator, and photographer.
Then, I was employed by ARAMARK Higher Education at High Point University as a Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer for 3 years. I created all dining related signage and digital/print advertising, ran their social media marketing, and generated revenue through meal plan and declining balance sales.
Afterwards, I worked at Lowes Foods Corporate HQ as their Senior Graphic Designer for almost 4 years. I managed, created, and executed many of their major year-round promotions both for in-store viewing and online digital platforms. I looked over freelance graphic designers and worked with advertising agencies as well to help ensure our brand standards. Some of the many projects I've touched on included billboard graphics, direct mailers, in-store signage, digital banners, social media GIFs, and truck wraps to name a few.
Currently, I work full time at Bojangles corporate HQ remotely from Denver, CO. I was hired to spearhead their major company re-brand. They wanted to take their beloved Southern Powerhouse restaurant chain to the next level and create a new visual identity. I work on everything from monthly promotional signage, new menu board designs and packaging, to OOH boards and direct mailers.
FUN FACT:
I worked as an assistant to photographer Cherl Harrison at High Point University. I designed a 150 page book of photography honoring Arnold Doren, titled "Doren and Photography." This coffee table book has been published and is now available in numerous major libraries across the United States.
